headlight help please!!

Looking to upgrade to a 6000k HID kit, and I'm sorry if I sound like I don't know a damn thing about my car, but I would rather be safe than sorry.. I can't find any info anywhere on the bulb type. [my last car took 9007's]
Today is my only day off for a week, [I would like to go buy the kit today..was going to go to speedworld in Baldwin, unless any fellow LI'ers could point me in a different direction?] so if anyone could assist, Christine & I would really appreciate it

Re: headlight help please!!

I run 8000k HID's on my Thunderbird, I paid $279 for that McCullogh kit.. when it comes to my cars, I spare no expense.. its all about having the absolute best. I do modeling as well as various other shows with my cars, so thats why I'm a bit psychotic when it comes to parts, customization, etc.. But thank you for the tip, I'll look into it, and def. gonna post up pics as soon as I can. =]

How about you read up on HID lighting instead of just throwing what you think is the brightest bulb you can buy in your car.

http://www.danielsternlighting.com/home.html

It might save the rest of us drivers from getting blinded by crap HID setups that don't belong in the car they ar installed in.

I posted a link to a site so the op could read up on proper HID lighting. HID lighting is a hobby of mine and someone admitting they run 8000k HID lighting screams "I know nothing about lighting but i will throw the brightest bulbs i can buy into my car ***** nilly with no research.". Read up on the subject at the link i posted, he is basically lord of HID lighting solutions, you can learn a lot about the do's and don'ts of lighting so you get the proper setup for your needs without pissing off every other driver on the road.

Re: headlight help please!!

Sylvania Xenarc kit made a kit to fit our (& many other) cars with 4656 style lamps. If you can even find one though is another story.
If you get an HID kit you will get the best results by retrofitting projectors on your car.
If you want to learn more about HID go to www.hidplanet.com/forums.There is a ton of info there not only about HIDs, but also retrofitting projectors, rewiring & how an 8K rated bulb in NOT brighter than 6k(the higher the number the less light you'll get.

Dont bother with those fake ebay projectors that come with H4 lamps.First off they are not true HID & your light output will be less than before. Not to mention the wireing issues from the H4 lamp.

Not to be rude, but 8000k are NOT the brightest HIDs you can put in a vehicle. also, its about how you aim the lights which will affect the other motorists on the road. I care not about brightness, I care about the color tone the light emits. the 8000ks on my Thunderbird emit a bluish white, which compliment the silver color of the car. I am planning on 6000ks for my Camaro, due to their emittance of purely white light. My question was whether anyone had knowledge of which bulb type to use. I have gotten conflicting answers to this question from other sources, and I thought "Who better to turn to than other 3rd gen owners" Most of whom have been very helpful, without being Rude.

The color tone has nothing to do with lighting. Complimenting the color of the car is a load of ****. That just proves what i said earlier. Read up on proper lighting and use it. You're one of those ricers missing a Honda to **** up. I'm surrounded by idiots and preaching to the deaf, read up on that link i posted.
