How to you replace the trunk motor assembly?

The trunk motor in my 89 Firebird just stopped working today. It stays down and wont come up. The motor just whines and doesn't move. the plastic latch that triggers it is also broken from trying to pull it up. I have a new assembly on the way. Is it difficult? Do you just need to pull off the panel and unbolt it? Thanks.

It's very easy. Just remove the inner panel and the assembly is attached with three bolts. Take off the bolts and the wiring and put the new one in. You shouldn't have any problems at all.

Thank you for your help. I pulled the panel to look at it and it looks fairly straightforward.
