1990 trans am gfx on 86 base need help

1990 trans am gfx on 86 base need help

i need help with the side gfx pieces. i took the plastic outside piece off then there was a bracket under it. but then there was a bracket mounted to the rocker panel that i dont know how to take off. my guess was under the trim and carpet but i want to make sure

Yup, behind the rear passengers arm rest plastics. When you take that piece off, there will be 1 speed nut behind it, its kind of low, in a square shaped hole. Get a flashlight, it can be hard to see.

ok great is that the only one holding it on? because it goes along the whole rocker panel

Nope, theres more. Open your door, look down and youll see its held on with screws along your sill plates. Also, crawl under the car and there are small screws lined up across the bottom, then pull part of your inner fenderwell off (The plastic piece) and there will be 2 bolts that mount them to your fender, than it should fall off.

If your planning on re-using the gfx, be sure th remove the metal strip thats hidden under them, you need it to re-mount them.
