How do I fix...?

Hey, I just bought a 1990 camaro rs which is in almost perfect condition but we all know nothings perfect, so my shifter in my car doesn't line up right and it says I'm in the gear below or it'll be in the middle of the two. How do I fix this?

If my memory is right ... and occasionally it is... there should be some room for adjustment where the shift cable attaches to the transmission.

From what I've gathered here you are saying your shift indicator is not displaying the correct gear you have selected. If you remove the cover piece on your console you can gain access to your indicator, it should be adjustable and you can move it up or down slightly to better match the shifter placement.

Hope that helps.
