Found an 86 T/A im thinking about buying

I found an 86 TPI in a dealer parking lot thats been sitting since 2001 that the owner is willing to sell for below scrap value. it has small impact damage on the driver side fender but everything else is in fair shape. The engine runs pretty well and it does not smoke or anything. All I want to know is how hard is it to replace a fender with 86 ground effects and could I do it myself? I am trying to put together a cheap badass grad present for my sister.

It'll probably take you a good full afternoon if you haven't done it before, but I'd probably test fit it (make sure gfx holes are correct, etc.), then remove it and have a shop paint it before you put it back on. Also, make sure you give the interior a good cleaning & shampoo so that it smells "new", and give it a day or two do dry out afterwards.

The fender is not too difficult to replace. if you're getting it for that much of a steal, go for it. Used fenders aren't too pricey and with a couple of hours of sweat equity, you should be pleased with your results.
