adjust/re-align REAR GLASS

O.K. , i have searched to no avail . lots of advice on alignment of rear hatch cover but not the glass . i have gone through the alignment of the hatch cover before . now , PO had someone replace the hatch seal . hatch had an alignment problem when i bought the car . it looks to me like the entire hatch was removed to replace the seal and not properly re-installed/aligned . i'm thinking remove seal , adjust glass , remove ( after drilling alignment holes in hinges and body ) entire hatch , then replace/re-install seal , and finally hatch . had entire hatch off at least 4-5 times today . could not align to my satisfaction with seal in place . i'm thinking new/re-placed seal prevented this . any thoughts/advice on my problem ? thanks i am sure others have had this problem . this site has saved my BUTT many times . THANKS , to all .

Re: adjust/re-align REAR GLASS

What is the seal doing that is fouling you up? Whats not lining up to your satisfaction? Can't you pull the seal out without removing the hatch? Are your hinges in good condition?
