Re: What is the firebird spoiler made of?

I have an 88 Trans Am convertible which uses a slightly modified base model spoiler; basically, a base model spoiler with the ends cut off. The spoiler had been cut by ASC and the ends filled with some type of body filler. I removed the original filler (which was cracking up) and replaced it with fiber glass resin.
The spoiler (inside view) looked like it was two pieces of some type of 1/8" plastic glued together with a strong adhesive.

Ok great i think im gonna try to modify mine heavily i plan on cutting it into 3 pieces and making a spoiler like on the 2nd gens. Im going to take the middle piece cut off the legs and try to split the front edge all the way across and spread it so that its a long triangle shape and mount it to the very back of the hatch. Then fab something for the corner pieces that will attach to the quarter pannels. Noy sure if any of that made sence.... Ill post pics if all go as planned.
