Making a LeMons racer out of a IROC don't kill me, have questions about floorboards
First off its not a nice IROC, and its plenty rusty.
Second I am restoring a 1985 IROC, and I have saved far more IROCs than I will ever hurt.
Anyway, we are building a 1985 Lemons car for the upcoming Lamest Day at Nelson Ledges.
We have a pretty rusty camaro its rotted out right behind the front seats, however we are worried about the fact that our roll cage will likely mount there, and don't want to risk the safety of the drivers.

Can anyone give us some hints and tips on a decent way to patch this without removing the whole floorboard? We haven't purchased the roll cage yet but know most of them mount right behind the door to floor there and we want it to be as strong as possible.
My plan was just to weld some thick metal there and be good.
