Please help: I need the fender bolt thread size
After disassembling and painting my 86 Firebird I have lost the front fender bolts. I was wondering if anyone knew what the size thread the bolts are that go on the top of front fenders and also the ones that attach the hood? Please let me know. Thanks!

I think they're M6x10. Should we assume the clip-nuts are also lost?
This bolt is used ALL OVER the front-end assembly, including the
facia plate that mounts between the core-support and front bumper
frame. Take a sample to the nearest NAPA, and check out the
BALCAN fasteners. If it's not available in store, ask for the BALCAN
parts book, which has sample pieces and part numbers, so they can
order it. Same bolt nut used for hood onto hinges. However, the
2 lower fender bolts are a different size. If you need these also, just
get a couple of larger sized ones from the Balcan book.
I spent a small fortune on these bolts at a NAPA in Grand Rapids MI.,
which happened to be at their main warehouse location. Not all NAPA
stores were so well stocked, but BALCAN is a standard product line
they carry, so you may have to wrestle with a particular location.
Good luck.

Or you could take one of the many extra bolts from somewhere else on the front of the car to Home Depot or Lowes. I know they have those bolts in stock....and CHEAP.
I had to buy a few a couple of months ago. I think they were around $.10-$.15 each.

Well I ended up finding the "big bag of front end bolts" in between my new seats. Lol. I must have ripped my garage apart lookin for those bolts and they were in the folded up passenger seat the whole time.
