I got to thinking about hoods, and realized a bulky SS or RA2 hood wouldn't look best on these cars, since they're basically perfectly straight, designed with a ruler. What I think would look neat is a 91-92 Z28 reproduction carbon fiber hood.

But the point of this is, were there any changes to the hood shape or fitment AT ALL between 1982 and 1992?

 

hope they are all the same...... you can even swap your louvers for the newer blisters if you wanted to.

 

That's exactly what I was thinking, I'm really more interested in doing something cheaper, or that'll actually help the car's performance, I was told the stock hoods are around 80 pounds, definitely feels like it, and there's some carbon fiber hoods that weigh 8 pounds.

Nelson Racing did a VERY nice 1984 Camaro, I stole the idea of color matched hood blisters from them, it'd be cheaper and really worth it in the long run, considering some carbon fiber hoods are under 10 pounds, and an OEM for a third gen is only $799.
