(Was To Be) Turbo Firebird Hood.

I have a 1989 Firebird with the WS6 Handling Suspension. It is not a Formula, I De-coded the car as a Firebird.
Anyways, it has the Turbo Hood, like the one on the older 1980-1981 Turbo Trans AM's.
I was woundering if anyone knows what the kind of Firebird the Hood came off of and which years. And If there is anything to block off the hole that the Bump leaves.

First of all, if your car has WS6 it is a Formula. You couldn't get a regular 1989 Firebird with WS6. It sounds like you've just got the regular stock Formula hood. Those hoods were used on 82-84 Trans Ams and 87-92 Formulas. There should be a block off plate on the back side of the bulge.

Usually called the Power Bulge hood. As said above, 82-84 Trans Am and 87-92 Formulas.

Re: (Was To Be) Turbo Firebird Hood.

Since your car is TBI you can get an 82-84 T/A air cleaner and a little mechanism that allows the car to get air out of that hole. Mine had the block off plate and I removed it. To me it didn't look like it was keeping water out, plus I never drive in the rain so now it's a heat extractor.

As said before the only way to get WS6 is with a formy. If your car really isn't a formy then the WS6 stuff might have been added by someone else.
