i already posted this question but i cant find the thread to add this to it...
i am having problems with my flip up lights, the driver's side one wont move...i thought it could be the motor, but then someone told me it could be the headlight module. what happened is it appears as though a wire somehow shorted out next to the motor and blew a fuse, i replaced the fuse and fixed the broken wire, but the driver's side light still wont go down, but the passenger side works flawlessly.
if it were the headlight module wouldnt it have blown out the whole thing?
and also anyone have any idea on how to isolate testing on either the module or the motor? ive tried jumping the motor from the connectors on the other side, and nothing, but it wouldnt work the opposite way either.
is it possible the motor and the module both blew out?
its a daily driver so its hard to work on a lot and i'd really like to drive with them both working properly, if anyone has any tips or advice please let me know! ive tried haynes manual and all that did was show me that the only things that could be wrong are the module or the motor lol

It's possible for a bad module to affect one side but not the other. However, you said you tried hooking up the driver's motor to the passenger side and it still didn't work, right? If that's the case you have a problem with you motor and not the module.
If the motor spins but doesn't make the light go up or down it means you need new bushings in your motor. If it doesn't spin you have some other problem and may need to replace your motor.

yes i tried hooking the good motor to to the bad, i didnt get anything, but i also tried jumping the wiring harness from the bad to the good motor and still got nothing.
and ok, the one thing i didnt try was hitting stuff lol stupid me lol, usually one of my first attempts lol.
my friend once had an amazing quote "screw every tool in your tool box, everything can be solved with a hammer!", he showed me this was true, we had to fix a waterfountain at work that wouldnt shut off, he hit the waterfountain like 3 times with a hammer...then it worked fine lol
