I have power mirrors - the pass side mirror is curved, and has the "objects may appear closer" etched in them.

I'd like to have flat mirror for the pass side, without the etching. My pass mirror is scuffed up and needs replaced.

Ive seen aftermarket PPG mirror replacements, and they are available flat without etching, but they are designed to just stick over the old mirror, which they won't, since my mirror is curved.

I've had the mirror apart, but it seems impossible to seperate the mirror from the backing - the factory really super-glued these on well, and I can't see any method of seperating without destroying it.

1) Was there an earlier model 3rd gen that didnt have the curved mirror with the etching in a power mirror? (The power mirrors have a different backing than the manual mirrors, and since seperating seems impossible, I'd need a power mirror kind)

2) Any thoughts on how to remedy this any other way?
