Wheel well undercoating removal question

I am in the process of removing the factory undercoating on the driver side wheel well. I am using a small torch and scraping it all off. I came to an area in the corner where there is a seam and as I scraped, I uncovered what looks like white caulking. Do I need to leave this there? Right below it is a "ball" of the same, I guess it's the excess.

That's seam sealer, best to leave it as you found it.

I will be recoating with KBS coating (similar to POR-15). Do you think it will adhere to this area then?
