i have a 82 t-top trans am and my center t-top rail is rusted and i want to replace it.

i found 1 at hawks third gen but its listed as a 85-92. will it still fit? or are the t-tops shaped differently?

I'm not sure if they changed from '82 on up but I have some pictures for one I posted for sale (here) if that helps. I have heard of people swapping the latches from the hooks to the pin types so I imagine the middle bar would be the same.

and could i use the part from a camaro?

 

It's from an '86 Firebird. On this particular part I don't think it would matter between a Firebird and Camaro. I bought it for my Camaro in case I need it if/when I ever get around to repainting it. I guess if you found someone locally with an '86 and tried one of your T-Tops on it you would know for sure about the T-Top bar. The hooks obviously won't work, but it should set in place regardless.
