making a camaro into a firebird

no

i bought a 89 gta. overall in great shape, except for it was a northern car. the more i look into it the more rust i find. i thought about just repairing it, but it's pretty much got to the point of it being easier to just find a rust free car and swap everything over.

i want a GTA, there are no firebirds/gtas for a reasonable price or good shape. but i found a almost completely stripped 89 iroc on craigslist, 100% rust free for $300.

so my question is. obviously the front ends can be swapped. and the only major difference i see is the rear quarter panels for the tail lights. which swapping would be a cake walk in comparison to replacing a floor pan, rockers...

is there any other differences?

anyone ever done such a thing?

Re: making a camaro into a firebird

can it be done, yes. is it a waste of money, oh yea. you could buy a roller from down south and have it put on a truck and shipped to your door, for less money than it would take to make this happen. people almost give away rollers of thirdgens. find any year bird in decent shape, and swap over all the good stuff you got. the result will be much better, take less time, and cost less money
