Re: rear spoiler swap

Yep. EVERY hole between the RS & 91-92 Z28/high rise are different. Weld shut & repaint is the only real way to get rid of them.

Won't welding be to much for the thin metal. im kinda stuck on this i want to do it right and not have it crack up my new paint job when i get it painted. will just bondo alone do the job?

Welding won't hurt it, if done right. MIG or TIG only. Arc welding will blow right through the thin metal.

Bondo COULD be used, but there wouold HAVE to be a backing plate, nut just bondo plugging the hole. Without a backing plate, it is much more likely to crack in the future, pop out (bondo "grows" when it cracks) & require repainting afterwards.

Re: rear spoiler swap

Like I just said.....

MIG or TIG. How do you think Body shops do metal work?

When my GTA wing was swapped out for a 4th gen wing, we had to weld up 4 holes. My 110 MIG was used & did just fine. If your friend knows how to MIG good, just turn the heat on low & go.

Re: rear spoiler swap

You could also just get the rear decklid cover that came with a car with the high rise. simply unbolt it from the old car with the spoiler, paint it, then bolt it onto yours.

Re: rear spoiler swap

i have thought of that, but that's more money than filling the holes. plus that only fixes half the problem, the spoiler has 3 pieces, decklid and 2 sides. i think those holes would still be there on the sides

Yep. You'd still hafta close 3 holes (per side) & paint.
