the part you broke is directly under the lock plate correct? i just looked in my 87 shop manual and its called a cancelling cam assembly. i wish it gave me part numbers. let me know if this helps. i relize this is an older post so you may have already solved this prob.

I already found out what it is. It is also readily available in the "HELP" section in AutoZone. I think it only cost like $7. I bought it like 6 months ago but I havent put it in yet because Im debating on whether I want to buy this Grant steering wheel named "Grant Challenger Series Steering Wheel."

Re: T-Top Mod

i had that same exact wheel on my 88. i loved it. the 87 i have now has a 3 spoke chrome one. not really a fan of it. chrome shines in your eyes sometimes..lol. dont for get to rent the lock ring puller from autozone. there is no way youd want to take out that lock plate with out it. that spring is really pushing on that plate. really you could have the wheel off and that piece changed in under 20min. good luck and let me know if you run into trouble. its still fresh for me since i just tightened my tilt column and had to tare it down more than that.

Ha, when I think I know why there is only right hands left. When I got my nos t-top weatherstrip from gm parts direct it came with TWO left hand sides of those hard plastic replacements.

Will trade for right hand side.

Re: T-Top Mod

I bought a few sets recently, I think they're acutally a good deal for around fifty bucks a set. At first I thought they were a rip but they're much better quality than the originals
