Hey guys im painting my car and want to get rid of all of the badges because they are not accurate any way. But here is my problem I want to get rid of the plaques on the ground effects but i don't want to just fill it with bondo because i don't want it to ever just fall out. Has anyone ever done this before and if so how did you do it?

Lots of MIG welding I guess. The trick is to block the back of the holes with a piece of copper sheet taped on there temporary.

The weld slag wont stick to the copper and the copper will keep unwanted oxygen from creeping in and burning through making the holes bigger.

That's the only "right" way,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, unless you have a TIG.

anyways. look for a flexible parts filler at an autobody store. there are countless products out there that you can use for areas like that. proper prep and it will last a lifetime.

 

you could always try to find a spare piece of gfx, cut it to fit the emblem opening, and use an epoxy to attach the two. that way you're not using a ton of filler

Thought you were talking about trimming the gfx and everything.. I had a car where they filled in the badges with bondo on the sides and nose but it all came out pretty easy.
Kind of ghetto really....
