Hate it when you just can't think of the word to describe it??

I'm looking to replace or remove the IROC emblems that are located on the outside of the door skins that surround the door lock cylinders. The IROC I just bought has them, and they're bubbled/yellowed/rusted, and quite unsightly.. Anyone know exactly what these are called? If I can, I'll provide a picture of exactly what I mean..

No need. They are aftermarket and were a horrible idea to protect the paint around the keyhole from key scratches. The best way to remove them is to heat the area with a hair dryer to soften the adhesive. Use a piece of string to get under one corner and gently pull the corner away enough to get a grip on it. Using pliers or fingers, gently pull while applying heat until removed.

Those were usually sold in the 80's so the paint might be faded around these compared to what's under them. You may need to compound the doors blend any paint differences.

Thanks man. That's what I figured, but I was afraid that if I removed it, there would be holes or something, but now that I know it's just adhesive, I'll be removing them. Thanks again.
