84 TA body side molding pics and dimensions please?

I am installing the side moulding for the doors and am wanting to match
factory placement.

Would much appreciate pics of original install and the physical length dimensions
of individual pieces.

The moulding is flat bottomed so I assume it goes just barely above the body line however I see pics in here of it appearing centered on the body line.

Thanks in advance for any elightenment..

Oh, I purchased the moulding a couple years ago and can't recall the vendor to add a link for reference, searching now..

I'll get some up for you. It will take a few minutes to get them up. I also have a 84.

the back section behind the door- just the molding is 5 7/16 the track it goes in with the caps on the end measures 6 7/8. That's end to end of it.

The middle molding is 54 1/8. The track with end sections put on is 55 9/16.

The front section molding is 8 5/16. With the track and end sections it's 9 3/4. The bottom of that trim sits 5/8 of an inch from the top edge of the scoop. It is centered down the body line right where the body starts to bulge out in the center. I hope this helps. i'll try to answer more if you need it. The last to pics aren't that great since it's so dark. Again, the overall length is including the end caps in place with the track.

99transamgirl Thank You Very Much!

that is exactly the info I was needing to work with, my moulding
is aftermarket without the track and I will still use the overall
dimensions as if it had the tracks included for overall length.
Since it has flat bottom adhesive it will fit secure just over the body
line best I think, I'll post pics installed in a few days..

Again very much appreciate the info!

I don't think that's a factory body side molding in those pics. The factory molding was just a skinny black molding that used double sided tape to stick to the body. It did not have any ends like those pics.

Yeah, those aren't factory pieces which means their placement measurements are probably not 100% correct. So I wouldn't use those # if the OP is looking for 100% accuracy.

Looks like the early early 3rd gens might have had those moldings. I'm pretty much doubting this Indy Pace Car didn't have aftermarket ones.

Those were DEFINITELY added on. There is no way there was a body side molding in front of the front wheel. You can even see whoever did it, didn't even line them up straight. Like I stated before - the original moldings were thin rubber strips double sided taped to the body. There were no metal pop rivet ones from a 1978 Buick on there.
