My wiper on the right side doesn't go all the way down when parked. There is also some slack which I assume is worn bushings.
After some time, the wipers overclock. The left hand wiper will actually go past the windshield.

So it looks like I get to inspect and replace all the bushings soon. I picked up a Help! kit # 49447. Is this the correct kit and how much of a pita is this going to be?

Re: Rebuilding the Wiper Transmission
oh man, if you can figure this out please report back!

My passenger wiper doesn't go all the way down either. I've looked at it a few times and for the life of me, don't see any adjustments for that side.

The drivers side, you can adjust there by loosening the screws that connect right to the wiper motor arm. Then slide it either way.

but the passenger side, I can't find anything. It bugs the crap out of me, since it sits about an inch too high when parked. I can manually go out there and move it down, it just won't go down all the way on it's own.

Take both right and left arm off then turn the wipers on then off when the motor stops reinstall the wiper arms where you wont them to be

That's a generic fix for our bigger problem. Guess I'm going to have to dig into it on a soon to be warm day.

You cant reposition the wiper arms. There are keyways on the splidles that align with a notch on the wiper arms. Its probably a wasted bushing &/or the adjustment is out of whack.

Re: Rebuilding the Wiper Transmission
I just overhauled the linkage. I went to Autozone and went to the HELP section, the sell a wiper bushing kit assortment, Get 2 packs, cost around 8.00 here in Vegas, use the white square headed bushings, comes 3 to a box, youll need 6, and press them in, I used a c-clamp, the flat side on the flat part of the bushing and a socket on the opposite side and pressed them in that way, Wipers are tight, oh, make sure to add lots of white lithium grease in the ball socket of the bushing before you press them in.

Did you only have to remove the black covers?

Re: Rebuilding the Wiper Transmission
best way to discribe, its on the linkage, they are originally black, those are no longer avail. but the bushing kits at autozone are white, price you have to pay for solid and strong like new wiper linkage. Unless you can find NOS.
