R-DOT fenders question...

Hey everybody... I got myself a pair of brand new R-DOT fenders to replace the rusty ones in my 91 T/A. I see that they're coated in some sort of black paint. Is that primer? Or do they need to get primed before painting? Thanks!

Re: R-DOT fenders question...

I would still primer them sand the edp coating a little first to get good adhesion. but you can leave the edp coating on it is actually a little better than primer because it isn't as pourus so it will slow down any rust from ever starting. But paint sticks better to primer.
