If I cant sell my car im probably just gonna go crazy and drop some money into it over the summer. For now though, I put some LEDs in my license plate lights and theyre awesome!

So I wanna do all my taillight bulbs. Im going to order them from superbrightleds.com but what ones should I use?

Re: LED lighting questions.

I would not recommend the plug/play bulbs for tail lights, they won't light up the lens enough and it won't be an even amount of light. In the daylight people might not even see it, and if you get rear ended by someone you could be at fault.

To properly convert them to LEDs, you'll have to do a full retro.

Re: LED lighting questions.

Really?

I have the LED plug/play wedge bulbs and use them for my license plate lights and they work great. Theyre SO bright. I just wanted to get brighter bulbs because my tails are smoked with NiteShade and during the day its kinda hard to see them. At night its fine though.

The plug/play might work for a license plate (but they do tend to fail quickly) but for a tail light, they just don't cut it.

Even those ones that claim to point in all directions, just don't put out enough light. Plus I've read they fail often too.

To really learn about LEDs and retros check out this site
www.hidplanet.com

I started a retro on mine, but since the car isn't drivable right now I haven't finished. Do a search by my username and you'll find the thread I started on it.

I did everything turn/tail/brake/reverse.
