Need help asap. Window problems. Front stop missing?(pics)

Well I got to work tackling multiple jobs at once. Fix the rattles, adjust the window, and swap door panels. Well, I fixed the rattles for the most part and moved on to the window adjustment.

Here's the problem
Window.jpg?t=1268874740

As you can see, the window just doesn't stop when I roll it up. I thought it was be as simple as adjusting something here and there and be done but it looks like something's missing. I checked inside the door to see if it had fallen but found nothing. Here's what it looks like:
Door.jpg?t=1268875111

Door2.jpg?t=1268875151

and a view from the bottom
frmbttmresize.jpg?t=1268875201

When I seen that there was nothing to actually make the window catch I ran out to check my 91. It has power windows but I don't believe that makes any difference. This is what it had:
91resize.jpg?t=1268875390

I planned on swapping the 91 piece over to the 88 but can't find any way to remove the round piece off the window. On the 91 it was held in place with a small torx bit. On the 88 it's different and I can't figure out how to get if off, and even if I did I don't know if the newer piece would fit.

Someone please help me, it got dark on me and I had to leave everything apart. If any more or better pics are needed just let me know and I can snap a few more.

You wanna remove the round plastic piece. You'll have to drill the rivet off.Just try not to crack your window.

Man, that is not what I wanted to hear. Now I'm thinking about how hard it would be just to swap the glass. I've been searching for a how to but havn't come up with anything yet. If anyone has any input feel free to chime in.

Also, I don't think the hole in the glass would be big enough to fit the newer style piece without drilling. Besides the fact that I don't have a drill, I don't think I would trust myself doing so.

Edit:: Nevermind, just found some info on glass removal.

I may be wrong, but I thought that when I messed with my windows they had parts attached to the glass that slid up & down in the tracks, and that the bolts (or ones like them elsewhere along the tracks) that I have circled on your pic below were stoppers in the tracks that were adjustable.

See if loosening them and changing their position changes how far up/down the window goes.

Without the plastic stop(see pic) that should be on the glass. There is nothing to keep the window from going to high. The plastic stop on the glass stops against the adjuster you circled.Somehow his broke off, you can kinda see the gap behind the rivet head.

Yeah I ended up checking the drivers door to see exactly what it was suppose to be like. Went ahead and just put the new panels on. I guess I'll have to try and fix it later when I can find my drill. Havn't seen it since I moved.

You could also grind the rivet head off.Just remove the adjuster & cover the glass so sparks dont nick it.

Re: Need help asap. Window problems. Front stop missing?(pics)

Good thinking. Might have to pull the panel back off tomorrow and try this. Is the hole in the glass the same size on the 91 and 88? I would think they are, but for some reason the bolt on the 91 just seemed like it was bigger than the piece going through the glass on the 88.

Ahhh - so he's missing the window half! Gotcha! I thought he had the right bolts pictured for adjusting - but it's been so long since I've been in mine!

Good luck to ya Boogie - hope you get it worked out!

Re: Need help asap. Window problems. Front stop missing?(pics)

Thanks man. I'll probably mess with it a little later today or tomorrow. I've got everything back together so I'm not in quite the hurry I was.

I think the way the window was adjusted had alot to do with my t-top leaks too. I had to adjust it to where it was a little stiffer to roll up but now they don't wobble around and the backs actually go all the way to the top. lol

Re: Need help asap. Window problems. Front stop missing?(pics)

Yeah in the middle and back there's those little plastic hooks that mount on the window.(whatever they are) They catch on the window guides at the top. I pulled them off the 91 and installed them, but they were bigger I guess because they wouldn't allow the window to come up all the way. I even tried to grind them down to size but they still wouldn't work. I pulled them back off and adjusted it the bast I could. It works alot better than before but it's still not perfect.
