You can pick up a remover called wood grain remover at your parts store. I used it to get mine off all you do is spray it on, let it sit, and scrape it off with a rubber scraper. Worked excellent for me

But here is the thing. I dont want to destroy the paint that is on the car . Its only being sanded down and resprayed so having parts of the car in bare metal and some with paint on it , that will present problems .

Let us know what you end up using and what worked the best.
I had my 86 IROC repainted by chevrolet due to the clear on black camaros and vettes back in 86 flaking off...
The first time I sent it in, they only sprayed panels above the moulding. I got the car in florescent light, and could see they did not remove the IROC decals
(one was crooked from the factory yes!) anyway everytime chevrolet lied to me I knew they were lying as I never told them I noticed the IROC Z on the driver side was not straight. The second time I took it in, you guess it... They tried taping over the decal with masking tape and painting ONLY the panels on the car what were beginning to clear flake like the roof. Third time is the charm right?
The third time I took it down there told them they could have the car back if it was not done right again. Well, Steakley chev did not want the car back.
They told me the routine was NOT EVER to strip the IROC decals. Why I do not have any idea. I guess they are some sort of magic thing that has to stay there?
Anyway, I told them I would not be satisfied unless the complete car was stripped and repainted. They eventually agreed, and striped the car all the way to metal. I know as I personally took trips to the body shop to see the car down to metal. My fear was my NEW car would never be the same.
Actually they gave me a Jet Black Lacquer paint job. It turned out better than it did from the factory. Anway, they finally got the decals lined up by doing that way. That is why I am curious as how you are going to approach removing them without any chemicals. I need to remove the stripes off my current Z28 but the problem is, the shop that did the repaint on it cleared over the decals when they were put back on. Not sure I can do anything there. Most stickers if you can get a hold of the edge without gouging the paint you can use gas and a plastic razor blade to get them off. I have done that many times in the past on factory decals but good luck finding plastic razor blades these days!
