Bring back the rear body lines?

Iv noticed that my rear quarter panels just behind the doors are a bit out of whack, seems there was previous body work done to both sides that didn't turn out to well, along with that the rear quarter panel lip creases are missing here and there. I would attempted to do this my self but iv tried to bring lines back and im not that great at it. Im a decent body guy but i don't feel comfortable trying to fix others previous mistakes. what would this cost me to take to a body shop and have them bring them back to a factory look im talking about just the body work it self.

Right side. the body line looks better then the left side but its not as strong looking as a factory line

I noticed also my driver's door body line isn't as sharp as the pass side. I've always wanted to get that fixed. There are quarter panels for sale (I believe original GM) at classic industries.com. Or boneyard.

Re: Bring back the rear body lines?

Id grind all the filler out with a waffle wheel and take some tape, mark the bodylines, and use as little filler as possible to recreate the lines. Who knows how bad it is under the filler? Could be ok, just someone else's bad "fix"

Re: Bring back the rear body lines?

Dealing with someone else's wacked quarters is not fun. I tried this (reshapeing body lines after grinding out the previous owners body work on a camaro I had years ago). It is less work to put in a new quarter panel.

Yeah yours would be a piece of cake more less. I had filler all in the wheel well hump now that was a PITA to get back to shape again.

Re: Bring back the rear body lines?

I just ground out some bondo that someone used a ton to cover up a tiny scrape. I just need to skim coat it and it will be good. Some people shouldnt be allowed to touch cars. And im sure it wasnt some backyard job either...
