I've asked around on a few other boards and cant get a good answer so I figured I'd ask here as well (not sure why i didnt come here first but anyways) I have to replace the hood on my 82 z28 camaro and im wondering what other models hoods from the generation would fit? Theres a few at my local junkyard but dont wanna buy one thats not going to fit. All help is greatly appreciated.

Looking for stock hood that would fit, not any aftermarket hooods.

 

im about 99% sure 82-92 will fit. you just have some variations in the Z28 louvers.

 

Any Camaro hood from 82-92 will fit just fine. If you are trying in any way to keep the car original then you need to look for an 82-84 hood, as the louver design is different. Also the 82 hood you have is SMC "fiberglass" they changed to steel in late 83 or 84 I think so if you are going for original then you want to look for a SMC hood from an 82 or 83.

 

Thanks for the info. I'll end up finding an original one later right now my top priority is having a hood on it for now. Looks like I'll be heading down to the junkyard thius weekend

 

hi ,I got a Fiberglass, or SMC (sheet molded composite) which is a fiberglass like material.
