Startin Body Work, Questions...

Well I bought my 82 trans am as a roller for $280. It needs a drivers door, windshield, and both windows, and a new hood.

question about my front bumper. how do i repair the polyeurothane? its dipping in the middle, i found posts on tears and breaks but not on it dipping in the middle... ill attach a pic...




i gutted the interior and am still looking for a 4th gen donor... ill keep you updated...

I have used the epoxy fillers to repair these and they work well. I think you could brace the bottom up, to help hold it, with that stuff. Be sure to clean it first, the backs are really dirty.

Some can do it with a heat gun, some will just replace it so it does not come back!

Hey, thanks for the reply... ya, ill try to brace and heat it then get some epoxy filler to strengthen it... if its still a little pitted can i use it on the top? i dont want it to come back 4-5 years from now...

Yes, you can fill chips with it. It is kind of expensive for a filler, but you can buy small tubes of it.
I have fixed some cuts and damage on these bumpers and here's my opinion;
I like the maxim from evercoat the best but it is thin so I like to have the part off so it kind of levels rather than running down the side.
It is flexible but will be stiffer than before the repair.
It does not feather edge very good so I will skim some lightweight filler on the top.
I also like the metal glaze filler for this skim coat.
