Minor fender bender

I was in a minor accident Thursday morning on the way to work. It was my fault and I really don't want to explain because it's confusing to understand how it happened. But anyways I have pics of it and updated pics of the progress I'm doing to it.

Yesterday I took the hood, fender, and bumper off to assess the damage. Insurance considered it a total

I'm glad the front mounts weren't bent. I got lucky.

Re: Minor fender bender

Today I went and bought a New bumper and Headlight assembly, both for $70

Good thing the headlight motors were still good after the impact.

I do need to replace both turn signal lights. I'm getting new hood and fender tomorrow. I'll have more pics up then.

Hope it isn't off the streets for too long. Are you gonna be getting some insurance money from the other guy? Maybe you can do the work yourself and save some of it for other toys for the bird.

Re: Minor fender bender

The insurance company offered me $1700 and they keep the car or give me $1300 and I keep it but I think I can get a bit more (apx $2200 and still keep it). I should have it back and on the road tomorrow night. Any ideas on were to find the grill inserts for the bumper? or even what lights go in it? the bumper came off a formula I believe?!

Ok I was wondering exactly what model it came from because even the car I took it off of, it didn't fit right. The ends that bolt onto the fenders a bit "Bulged" out and they don't fit flush with the passenger fender.

I also need the diagram for routing the hose for the formula breather valve in the hood if anyone has it.

You are not fooling anyone, I know what happened.

Joking aside, I hope you get it back together! Good luck should be simple

Re: Minor fender bender

Ok I gave up on the firebird front end and of the 4 they had to choose from, none of them had and of the parts I needed in even decent condition. So they had 5 camaros. I went after them.

In total it only took me about 2 hours to do all the work.

Well the wiring harness came from a '87 and my car is a '90. Since air bags became standardized in '90, the '87 didn't have the sensor wired into it(along with the motor line ) So I basically separated out the wires to the sensor and motors and just spliced the 2 harnesses together (matching colors ofc). If that makes sense lol

Ha thanks! I'm thinking of when I repaint it I want it to be matte black?! It actually looks nice when it's matte.
