i need to see what the early years locks look like, for the doors and for the hatch

the door locks for these dont have arm or linkage on them??

what about the hatch lock?

im trying to figiure which of the locks in my locks stash are the ones from early birds

and i totally give up trying to find pics, as none seem to exist on the internet anywhere

Early as in third or second gen?I just bought a new set of locks from hawks and they had a pic on there website.Third gen hatch is a cable though im not sure about the doors as I have not got in there yet.

 

I just bought and installed all new locks from an 83-84 into my 1989. I just happen to have pics LOL




They look more squared off than what was pulled out, if that makes sense

ive got too many locks and such from tons of other cars and trucks over the years ive forgotten what these locks for these cars look like......

The inside of the door locks has a little lever (that has a hole in it) that the lock
rod fits into and is secured by a clip.

This is the lever (lock pawl) that is on the back side of the door lock:

 

I know that my 84 T/a's hatch lock DID NOT have a cable. It had a straight bar that ran into the latch, if that helps.
