shortened rear bumper

i was wondering if anyone has ever shortened their rear bumper like this

personally i think the stock rear bumpers stick out way to far

i've seen a few photoshops of a rolled rear pan look and theres a guy on fiber glass forums that modified his rear bumper to look like a 5th gen.he used the foam piece from a newer mustang behind the bumper to replace the huge stock egg crate absorber. then made a new fiberglass bumper cover.
here is the stock absorber

heres the mustang foam absorber

look at how much further the exhaust sticks out.

i was wondering if the same kind of thing can be done to shorten the bumper and still retain a somewhat stock appearance. has anyone ever done this. i searched but couldn't find any useful information.

Re: shortened rear bumper

I've done several Photoshops for people, but no one has gone so far as to build one yet.

i have seen a bunch of photoshops of a rolled rear pan look like they do in mini trucks but how would you do that and still have a bumper behind it. thats why in the chop i did there is still a small lip just not as big as stock. it wouldn't be legal to completely remove the the bumper. so i was wondering what other cars would have a good absorber like the foam mustang piece that one guy used. that would allow you to get as close to flat as possible.
