power antenna repair?

Hey guys, well it seems as if the cable for the mast in my power antenna snapped since the motor keeps running but the antenna is stuck all the way up. I have it out of my car now and I wanna buy the replacement cable/mast. However I removed the clips and 3 rivets that were holding the unit together and it still won't come apart. I tried prying it but the plastic case keeps bending and I'm afraid it'll break, but I did manage to separate the mast from the motor unit. Any tips? I didn't get much out of a search.

Thanks!

Use a putty knife or a razor blade to seperate the casing. It's possible that it's been replaced before and the case was resealed with RTV or silicone. Just be sure that you are careful not to send parts flying when the seal is finally broken. Did you drill out the rivets to remove them? Try your best to not crack the casing. If you break it, a new one will be in your future and they aren't cheap!!
