Can this be repaired as is? Front damage (91 Camaro)
Well i just recently purchased this 1991 camaro rs for $1300 unfortunately the previous owner slid into the back of a truck and cracked the front bumper.
My question is if its possible for me to take this to a shop and replace it without having to go through the hassle of picking up a new bumper and painting it to fit the paint job.
The car has damage on the right side of the front spoiler too.Any guesses on what price im looking at?
Here are the pics, thanks guys any info on this/thoughts greatly appreciated.

Pics of when i first got it

-After scrubbing off some traded paint

Everything else is in good shape, interior is nearly flawless and no damage on the side or rear as far as i can tell.
Thanks again, looking forward to being part of the community.

The bumper can be repaired, but they're pretty common, so getting a replacement shouldn't be that hard. They were the same from 85-92 on the GFX-equipped cars. As for the front chin spoiler, I would definitely replace it. They are somewhat spendy, but honestly, thats the way I'd go.

yes but if you compare the cost of fixing it and replacing the bumper cover replacing will be better since there's not as much labor involved specially on our cars, unless ofcourse the op has some body work skills and does it himself either way the bumper has to come off of the car to fix it and reinforce it the right way

I can fix that front bumper with my $25 fiberglass kit.
The chin spoiler looks in bad shape but might be fixable. In the end its up to the op if hes willing to put the time to fix it. The front bumper is not that pricey at yards and can be found easily. Its around $40-$50 at yards here compared to around $115-$150 some people want for em
. As for the chin spoiler that might require some luck to find at yards so you might have to end up buying that for a good price.

Thanks for the advice guys. Yeah a friend of mine suggested for me to try to keep the front spoiler since he heard it was kinda rare. What price do they usually go for? I don't have any body work experience so I wasn't sure what i was dealing with.
Glad to hear its not as bad as i thought.

And - considering how easily it is to hurt that chin spoiler, might just want to repair as best as you can, knowing you'll be hitting something with it again and repairing again. I had my car painted - within 3 weeks I bumped mine again and cracked my new clear coat - I just cried. But its going to happen - kid's skateboard, shopping cart, tall speed bump, tall curb - the only chin spoilers that never get bumped are on the trailer queens. At least your car is black and easier to hide little flaws like that - I painted a candy teal and there's nothing to be done but cry and get over it.
I have to go now - feel another tear welling up

Lol yeah that's true, i dont know how many times ive scraped that spoiler since i got it.( like a week ago) Mostly because im not used to driving so low so i figured i would learn how to avoid all the scrapes with the current spoiler before i bought a new one.
Still though i want to replace it eventually because even if its not that noticeable, i know that its there..and it kinda bothers me. Same thing with the front bumper crack.

. Yards here will let them go for around $15+tax. I am currently fixing mine and well its in really bad shape, I already fixed both my rocker gfx and well you cant even tell they were cracked. Here is how my front spoiler looks.

Do what I did, head to a local automotive parts store and pick up a fiberglass kit and start experimenting, My experience is next to none as well and I can somewhat do it.

If you cant get it fixed, i have the gfx for the front bumper cover. I'll do $65 plus shipping if you want, its in great shape, just needs to be painted the same color as your car.

Im not exactly sure what piece you're referring to but hopefully sometime next week il take the car to get an estimate at a few body shops, see what they tell me, and we'll go from there.
