This car worth $400?
I can't find a general chat section to post this in but then again I do have a few questions about the body.
This car belongs to my friends kids and they want to sell it and he is getting tired of looking at it. His kids don't have any information on and we aren't sure either. We think it's a '82 RS V6 AT. The drivers floorpan is rusted through and the rear tubs are completely gone. It does have some rough spots throughout the body. The interior is in okish shape.
I'm basically buying to part it out but if its worth fixing and selling I won't part it. Anyone have any ideas on if I should buy it?

Re: This car worth $400?
I could see maybe getting $400 + back out of it though. Part out everything not needed by a drag racer on ebay, and then sell the body to a drag racer for $400. If the rear is rusted out that badly, then it's already been "tubbed"
Usually the crushers will give you $300 and they'll come get it for that (at least in my area).
The louvers look like they are in decent shape and there's always someone looking to spend $100 on louvers.
Guess it just depends on how much time you have and if it's worth your effort to part. Where is it? I'm unemployed at the moment and got nothing but time - maybe I'll do it

I'd want to take a look at that car too if you buy it. Might want some parts. Might be interested in parts. I bet you can get your money back and more, just would take a little effort.

Id say, grab it. There are plenty of people on here looking for parts, and if you don't take the car, pull the louvers off and sell them. they are hard to find, and worth some cash.

I say fix it if you have the time. I would easily buy it and let it sit in my driveway and get good floor pans and go get decent rear rusted peices from a yard and have them welded in.
I always refer to yards since well its the cheapest place you will get decent floors and metal pieces in general for 1/100 the price new but like I said its up to you and if you desire a project.

i think your could make your money by parting it out...could be too much of a pain to do a resto job.
if you do....i have a 91 that needs a new driver door, and i am looking for good interior parts.

Re: This car worth $400?
I am going to go pick it up on July 4th weekend. So as soon as I get it back home and set up in a semi dry/safe place I'll start parting it.
I do however have right at this moment a LF Fender and Hatch (No Spoiler) off a '90 Firebird.
No set price, offers welcome. I'm located about 30 minutes south of Indianapolis. 46106

When you get it if possible let me know how much you'll sell the louvers for, I'd be very interested.

Hit me up with the condition and price of the grill in that front bumper once you get the car. Thanks.

Re: This car worth $400?
I now have the car. It's actually in ok condition. After sitting for 3 years I was suprised it started on first crank. It does have a minor miss but I think it just needs new plugs. Brakes are a bit iffy, most likely needs new pads or fluid. A/C is cold though ha.
As for the condition of the parts requested above. The louvers are in decent shape, they are cut out up top for the 3rd light (pics if needed). The grille is complete, it does have the usual dry cracks. All screw holes are intact.
I'm not too good with prices and I have never shipped items this large(e.g. louvers, hood, fenders, etc.) before so I may need help on how to do this.
I am going to keep the tires/wheels for winter use on my Bird so those are not available.
Any questions just ask.
