Wiper rubs hood
I replaced my hood recently with one from a salvage yard (old one damaged by tree limb) and yesterday I noticed that it is touching the passenger side wiper arm and keeping the wiper from actually working, it's like the hood sags too much in the middle. I did notice a hole in the center of the hood that looks like it should have one of those screw in bumpers, can someone comfirm this for me?

Here's a pic of the hole, it certainly looks like something screws in there because the left side of the hole is raised to accept the thread pattern.

I have the above as well. There's nothing in it.

I see Hawks has a 'hood to cowl bumper' for 4 bucks, it's a little smaller than the front ones. Hopefully this will solve my problem.

Bumper, Hood Rr (12.212) P/N 1717924. The 12.212 mentions Bumper, Rear Compartment Lid or Tail Gate. Very interesting. I wonder if all cars were equipped with them or if I'm simply missing mine. At any rate, I've experienced no ill effects without it.

Re: Wiper rubs hood
I actually have a question about this subject. On my 92 Camaro it seems the hood is to close to the arms of my wipers. I can't lift the arms at all and the screens under the hood to catch leaves and stuff look smashed up a little. Does it mean that I need to readjust the hood or the are the wiper arms set wrong?

Thanks! I'll try that. I'm sure it's not a simple task though huh? Would i need to have someone do it or would i be able to do it myself?

BTW, I was at a cruise-in the other night. Several thirdgens were in attendance. None were equipped with the rear/center hood bumper.
