84 T/A Fender

Greetings All,

Question for you knowledgeable people out there...
I need to replace the Fenders on my '84 Firebird, and have been trying to located T/A Fenders to place on there...So far I've gotten a hold of one really nice NOS 84 T/A Fender for the Driver side, but haven't had that much luck on the passenger.

Here's my question...there are tons of them available for the 85+ T/A style - Are they close enough that I could drill/fill the holes for the GFX mounts without too much of a problem, or are the Vent mounts/standard mounts different as well?

Thanks!
Miah

the fenders are all the same you can get any year from 82-92. I would just get two from the same car if you can.

Re: 84 T/A Fender

Factory verts have a different lower mount in the fenders to accommodate the stock SFCs

84 would be aftermarket so its no guarantee the fenders will interchange with a standard 82-92

Re: 84 T/A Fender

I know this is an old post, but wanted to add to it for others like myself that will be searching for answers on this type question. I was reading about this same thing, and had seen some that say the older vents will not fit, but I recently picked up an NOS fender for the 85 and newer, and I did a trace to see what the difference is, and for the most part, there is none, except on the front side, there is two little tabs that perhaps might cause a little trouble getting the vent to sit in right. Otherwise, the trace was an exact match. There are 5 holes that the newer Trans Ams use for ground effects that the 82-84 did not, and 3 holes for the 82-84 that will have to be drilled.
