Quarter panel patch panels '86 IROC, where?
Quarter panel patch panels '86 IROC, where?
I need patch panels for both of my rear quarter panels on my '86 IROC. the wheel arches are rusted out and I am hoping I don't have to buy complete quarter panels to fix them. Does anyone know of patch panels are available.

There are patch panels made for just the lower area behind the rear wheel but they only do the bottom 8" of the wheel arch. They're pretty crude panels too. If you've got rust over the top of the wheel arch you're going to end up having to get the full quarter panel skin.

What I did was cut what I need from a donor car. For the passenger side I got lucky and bought a full rear quarter for 1.00 on ebay. For the driver I cut one out of a donor car. Check the junkyards. You can use a battery powered sawzall but cut way more (bigger) out than you need so you can trim it to size. I also got the inner fender pieces because mine were bad. That is the cheapest but requires extra work.
