Hoods Acting Badly

My Hood doesn't lift or close evenly. It stays up when lifted, but both sides do NOT raise or lower at the same time. Is this a problem with a weak shock? How hard is it to change the shocks?

thanks, Do i have to remove the Hood Mount to change these? Lord knows i don't like Aligning the hood. I'll have to do it eventually when i change engines, but i don't want to have to mess with it before then.

Re: Hoods Acting Badly

I experienced that problem and in my case it was the hood strut's. It's very easy to replace just get a broom stick or something to prop the hood up on the side your going to switch the shock out on get a flat head screw driver and work the top and bottom clip off till it comes out and the new one should just push in and your done. That's how I did it I don't know if it's the correct way but it worked for me.

Yeah if you replace just one then the new one will have more work to do as the other one is already worn out and you will have the same problem.

Re: Hoods Acting Badly

Make sure your hood is actually not coming apart. I thought my shock was bad on the pass. side, but its actually my hood (at the rear)!!! Saving for 'glass replacement but they are high as hell.
