Re: vin and body tags

You did find the one on the dash? There are also vin numbers on the quarter panels under the back panels. There may be more... but, even so you might not be able to tell what size the V8 is without getting the numbers off of it, if that's what your asking? If your wondering about the options that the car came with from the factory then you need the RPO code list.

Re: vin and body tags

he is thinking of 87-91ish cars. They had decals that went on the fenders, hood, hatch, quarter panels, doors and bumper structures.

in 1985 there should be The VIN tag, a cowel tag, there is a VIN stamped under the RH fender and rumor is somewhere in the rear subframe....

On the V8 Engine under your Alternator there should be a 8 digits stamped IIRC. in it would be the last 8 digits of the VIN, there are also some other things stamped which can be decoded. The side of the transmission ( I forget which) also has the numbers stamped into it IIRC.

Re: vin and body tags

The Cowel Tag is actually on the radiator support on the LH side IIRC.

I have yet to actually verify this, however speaking to Jim Mattison last weekend we asked him where the VIn was stamped on the car, he said that about where the antenna is on the RH side on the fender support rail (not the actual fender), but in that general location there is a VIN or a partial VIN stamped... Interestingly I had my car apart a few year ago and did not see it there. I have a parts car that I think the TH fender is off, when I get access to it I will see if I can indeed find it.... I think the RH fender is off... 70% sure...
