Converting 85 TA to Formula. Side ground fx mounting question

So I removed the the side ground fx only to find that one of the supporting brackets is actually welded to the body. Has anyone dealt with trying to remove this without damage or should I just put the Trans Am ground fx back on and buy a Formula. Thanks

They are only spot welded on if I remember correctly. Regardless, ready your self for some welding and paint work.
