I did a search, but didn't find much on this subject. How much trouble is it to remove the rear spoiler from this hatch? I know it has bolts that hold it onto the deck lid, but I'm not clear as to how it is attached to the sides of the hatch towards the front?.?. Anyone here got any info or maybe some pics of how this thing works? The mounting bolts @ the back on mine (just bought the car) are rusted really badly up INSIDE the spoiler which has caused the actual rubber of the spoiler to split open at the bottom in the back where it touches the deck, letting in even more moisture, and I would either like to repair or replace the spoiler. Paint on it is also cracked all over. Either way, I need to get it off, and I didn't want to just start yanking on it and end up breaking something else in the process ...

John, the moulding around the glass has slotted tabs welded to it that some special clips slide into. Then the clips push up into the bottom of the spoiler. I don't recall if you can slide the spoiler forward or back some to release all the clips from the moulding or if you have to pull the spoiler up off the clips one side at a time.

 

Ok. That's kind of what i figured. I'll check it out when I get a chance.
