trunk latch question

trunk latch question

its a automatic latch that pull the hatch closed. but it pulls it to far and doesnt line with with the rest of the car. i even unscrewed the bumpers but the latch pulled even harder and strained it til it go where it always goes. so how do you adjust that latch if you can

Pull the rear trim piece that covers the motor off. The pulldown is attached to the body by 3 bolts in large holes. Loosen the bolts, move the pulldown the way you want it, tighten it up, close the hatch and check the alignment. Repeat if needed and reinstall the trim when done.
