My turn with the RUST

Car has been sitting for 6 years basically untouched. junk/animals/weather have taken a toll on the metal in some areas. Need to know what im looking at, i havent removed the doors or fenders, but is this area fixable?

the actual floor pans are clean and rust free, the water sat up in the front corner slowly rotting away the metal. i know its going to take some work, but can it be patched insted of replacing the entire floorpan? need input, i will save this car, but need to know where to start

Re: My turn with the RUST

thats a common spot for rust/rot. Any body rot can be patched without replacing the entire panel. If you have good fab skills and can weld, it will take some work and time, but is totally fixable. You can make a patch from scratch, or try to find a doner car to cut the area from and patch it in. That may be a little tricky though.

Mine is rusted in roughly the same area on both sides. You may want to pull the fender and the GFX piece to get at the other side of the rust. Cut it out and patch it. It may require 2 or more pieces of metal (make a kind of floor pan sandwich), but it should be doable.
