92 nose on a 87 firebird

I was wondering if i would need diffrent light buckets thinking that they stick out to far to fit in the 92 nose.

By bbucket i mean the plastic that is around the light.

I dont think they stick out too far, i believe it's the headlight itself. They are smaller on the 91/91 birds because the noses don't have those "dent" or "shelves" on each side. If that makes any sense. Maybe the pictures will help. I never knwe har dit would be to find pictures of firebirds with their headlights UP.

It's not the bucket and it's not the doors. You need to get headlight bezels from the 91-92 car to make them work. The only difference between the assemblies is the bezel, which is completely sloped on the late models and is flat on the front of the 85-89 units to match the curves of the bumper cover and the parking lights. Should be about $50 for new ones from a resto parts house, or cheap from a JY.

(I have a driver's side headlight from both an 85-89 and from a 91-92 in my garage)

Been done several times by other members here including me..as mentioned, yes the headlight buckets need to be swapped and also the inner bumper and the upper support piece that is attached to the bumper cover itself..think that wraps everything up from what I recall at the moment..
also,I have a front bumper for sale if int.

There's more than just the bezel that is different. The 91-92 cars use a smaller headlight too so they have different internal parts as well. It's best just to change to 91-92 headlight assemblies when swapping to a 91-92 front bumper.
