T-Top to hard top?

Has anyone ever gone from T-Top to hard top? I may end up doing that someday if my T-Tops don't stop leaking.

Re: T-Top to hard top?

You can search most likely, i believe seeing a thread with someone doing that, and i know for a fact i've seen hardtop to ttop threads which would be the same procedure on where to cute and such

Personal opinion? It's going to be much harder to swap to hard top than fixing the leaks. You could go the ******* route and silicone up the seals and make the ttops none functional and fix the leaks for now, worry about them down the road.

just fix it right, dont hack up the car.

you have about a 0% chance of it turning out good, especially if you arent willing to just put new ttop seals on.

I put a whole new set of ttop seals and door seals on 8 months ago and have been adding weatherstripping glue since then to fix all of the random leaks that appear.

Re: T-Top to hard top?

Ours leaked in the front corners-- just behind the A pillar plastics. I got some silicone & put a dab over the lil space that was there, about the size of a pencil earaser. Then I looked around for any gaps and filled them in too. { For a nice appearance, follow the directions on how to spread it if it needs to be spread. }
No more leak. It was the indoor // outdoor. It's only been since April.
**IF** you use a silicone product, plan the application- use painters tape & news paper to cover the areas like you're masking to paint. I cut the smallest part of the tip & went slow. Once it starts coming out, it wont stop til you pull the bar off the trigger if you use a caulk type gun.

Some ppl used windshiels sealer in the leaky areas.
Check your options.

Where is it leaking from?
