my 86 iroc rides like crap, its feels loose when i drive it like there is no body mounts left, tires are good, had 2 differant set on it, feels like it bangs around to much, ant ideas

no, a 3rd gen does not have bod mounts like earlier cars.

what are the shocks and struts like?

all the suspension parts do have bushings though, which could be bad, but if the shocks and struts are gone, the car will ride poorly

 

third gens are all uni-body construction . a good ck. of all bad steering/suspension parts first . 20 yr. old bushings can not be as good as new . replace all , bad suspension bushings/tranny mounts / etc. as needed . new shocks all around . thats going to be as good as it gets . don't get me wrong as there are many other improvements you can do for handeling . they will never ride as good as a town car/caddy/limo etc. . i like it that way , it's the nature of the beast . good luck .
