It's my driver side window sweeps. They are are fairly new, about a year old. I have them in right but for some reason they fold under in a few spots so it looks pretty bad. I slid a card under them to pull it out and it works for a few minutes but then they're back to the way they were. It's in the the same exact spots every time too. My brother recommended using a heat gun but I think that will shrink the weatherstrip.

Are you referring to the weatherstripping on the outside of the door pushed up against the glass? If so, your window may be out of alignment. Look at where the window rolls up to meet the inner weatherstripping. At the very top where the window edge should fit into the strip, when rolling it up if it doesnt fit 100% into there and you are positive that that inner weather stripping is put on right ( recommend using a plastic tool to tuck in both side tabs all along the rails it sits in). If the window edge doesnt roll up into that strip then your window is out of alignment.
ppop off your door panel and adjust the tracks. Really easy, just need to think logically

Oh yeah, I know what you're talking about. But my problem is the part that lies on the door. The bottom edge. I will get a picture.Originally Posted by dtk132

Mine do the same thing. They're OEM GM pieces. I put them on the car about a year ago when I finished the paint. Mine only does it for about the first 6" towards the front of the door on the driver side.
Sorry for bringing this back from the dead but it's getting warm here so I've started working on my car again. Attached is a picture of what I'm talking about. I just want it to stay folded out like it should.

Looks like the piece that's touching the door and not the glass is that right? Mine are also new but hard as a rock. Would not role if I wanted to. I was going to say a little silicone adhesive and giving it time to dry over night as a "last"resort but now I just don't know.

i would try *carefully* using a heatgun/hair dryer to warm em up a bit, should make them a bit more pliable and workable. the material's "memory" right now is to be rolled up, you may be able to get it to lay flat with some pressure once softened up

Okay, will do. That is what someone else told me. I figured that a hot day out in the sun with it unfolded and untouched would do it but a heat gun would probably give it more direct heat. I'll let ya know how it goes.Originally Posted by 1ADan
