Replacing my 91-92 'bird Aero Wing... got questions...
My 91 Formula was missing the spoiler when I bought it - I found one locally for $50 and *fingers crossed* will be picking it up today.
Since mine was missing, I have none of the nuts for the studs and the seller doesn't have them either. Are they plastic studs or do I just need metal nuts for them?
Also, was there a gasket or something to seal the holes in the trunklid? Can I rig something up that will work?
I've never had this wing before so I'm not sure exactly what was used to mount it. I've still got the metal tabs on the sides of the rear glass, but that's all thats left.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If i remember correctly there is 2 10mm headed BOLTS with captured, serated washer per side.
I used a little 3M butle tape around the bolts 4 a sealer.

Re: Replacing my 91-92 'bird Aero Wing... got questions...
As for the bolts, I was actually expecting a stud on the wing itself, but I see now the threaded holes for a bolt to go into. I'd like to get the bolts tomorrow and get the thing fully bolted on.
Can anyone verify that an M10 is correct (and what thread?)? It looks physically about the same size hole as a 1/4-20 bolt.
Can anyone verify the actual length of the bolt I need as well??
Any help would be great so I don't have to lug the spoiler into the hardware store with me!!

IIRC they should be the same as the body panel bolts (M10).
Correct me If needed.

they are 10mm, coarse pitch, 1.5 i think about 1" (25mm) seems to work, thats what i used to mock mine up with.

Thanks for the info. I'll try to pick some bolts up after Christmas and get it bolted down.
Thanks!

The studs screw into the spoiler, then the studs drop through the decklid and you thread on the nuts...
The dealer or an auto body supply house would be the best place to find the studs new. Otherwise, hit the junkyard and rob a few out of any GM car...
You might find that the holes that the studs screw into have been stripped out. In a pinch they can be glued in with JBWeld or Epoxy.

regular hex bolts will work too, but stubs would be ideal

Well, apparently, the bolts/studs for my spoiler aren't 10mm. Picked some up both 1.25 and 1.5 thread and the bolts look more like 8mm. Definitely not 10s.

Re: Replacing my 91-92 'bird Aero Wing... got questions...
I had to swing by Home Depot to exchange some stuff and bought some bolts today. The correct bolt is a:
M6-1.0 x 25mm
Thanks for steering me in the right direction on the 6mm. I've gotta do a little sanding on my repair and then I'll get it bolted on!

Re: Replacing my 91-92 'bird Aero Wing... got questions...
Can anyone help me? I need some advise on how to install a 4th gen 2001 trans am spoiler to my 91 firebird! I dry fitted the wing and can clearly see that I'll need to do some drilling through the hatch for this to work! I also know that the holes from the factory to install the factory wing I have will need to be filled in on the car! But I've seen this done to 91,92 firebirds before, and older models. But besides using a lot of 3M two sided tape along the glass, how do I properly install this WS6 wing to my 91 bird? Can someone help me?
