Is there a trick to removing the cowl screen?

I need to take my cowl screen off, but it is hung up on the passenger side wiper that goes through it. I need to remove the screen to unbolt the wiper, but I need to unbolt the wiper to be able to remove the screen?!?!

Re: Is there a trick to removing the cowl screen?

The wiper comes off without removing the screen. At the base of the wiper arm, there is what looks like a tab - pry that tab outward away from the wiper arm with a flathead screwdriver. As you pry it out, the 'teeth' will release from the splined wiper motor shaft, and the wiper arm will lift off the shaft.

On the cowl - it's held in with plastic tabs that 'pop' into holes on the body. You need to carefully pry upwards on the cowl and it'll pop off. BUT ... be careful not to get the edge or corner of your prying instrument under the lip of the windshield - the least bit of 'prying' under the lip of the windshield will crack the entire windshield (ask me how I know :duh.

Got it off! Big hole inside, right over the driver's feet. Patch panel time!
